The University Grand’s commission warned the students and parents to be aware of certain things so that they don’t get cheated by fake advertising. The first one is regarding the unrecognized universities. The commission has listed 22 unrecognized Universities in which the students should not join. They are:

Another important thing to be taken care of is regarding the Deemed Universities. For the functioning of Deemed to be Universities and their off campuses, off shore campuses, new departments and study centers, requires the recognition of Union Ministry of Human Resources and UGC. It has been noted by UGC that many deemed Universities which do not have affiliation and still waiting for getting recognition, are admitting students. Teaching in distance education pattern requires the permission of UGC-AICTE-DEC [Distance Education Council] joint committee. The eligibility getting after doing the courses without the permission, will not be considered valuable. The study centers are only meant for counseling and advice, not for offering any course. Keeping these things in mind the students should check whether the institution and the course have recognition, before joining. Kerala kalamandalam, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology etc are recognized deemed Universities in Kerala. There are 29 recognized Universities in Tamil Nadu.
